Audemars Piguet Just Made Its First-Ever Jewelry Collection — and It Left the Watch Behind
In Paris today, the watchmaker behind the Royal Oak unveiled Royal Oak Joaillerie: 19 necklaces, chokers, cuffs and earrings built from the most famous bracelet in watchmaking — with no movement in sight.
The Royal Oak, Reimagined as Pure Jewelry
On October 2, 2026, midway through the Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 shows, Audemars Piguet did something it had never done in 150 years: it launched a dedicated jewelry collection. Royal Oak Joaillerie takes the Royal Oak's instantly recognizable tapered bracelet — the links, the studs, the octagonal clasp — and turns it into necklaces, chokers, cuffs and earrings. No dial. No movement. Just the jewelry that was always hiding inside the watch.
It's a bolder move than it sounds. The Royal Oak is arguably the most important luxury sports watch ever made, and for a Swiss house to present it as a watchless jewel — on the fashion calendar, no less — is a statement about where luxury is heading. The first 19 creations span three lines: Dream of Joux, Risoud Eclipse, and a Frosted Gold series, each co-designed with jeweler Nathalie Barzilay.

Here's the detail that makes this collection make sense. The Royal Oak was designed in 1972 by Gérald Genta — who was a jewelry designer as much as a watch designer. The bracelet's alternating satin-brushed surfaces and mirror-polished chamfers were engineered, in Audemars Piguet's own words, to throw light the way a diamond's facets do. In other words, the Royal Oak has been doing the job of jewelry for 54 years; it just happened to have a watch attached.
Royal Oak Joaillerie simply removes the watch and lets the bracelet speak for itself. For a brand whose entire legend rests on treating steel like a precious metal, betting that the bracelet alone can carry the name is the logical — and gutsy — next step. For the rest of the market, it's one more sign that the line between fine watches and fine jewelry is dissolving fast.
"A gateway to the past and the future, the Royal Oak Joaillerie collection embodies Audemars Piguet's free spirit. Jewellery has always played an important role in the company's history."
Inside Royal Oak Joaillerie
Each line is tied to the Vallée de Joux, the valley in the Swiss Jura where Audemars Piguet has been based since 1875 — its frozen lakes, night skies, and the Risoud Forest translated into gemstones.
Dream of Joux
The high-jewelry heart of the collection — vibrant, colorful cuffs plus the showpiece tie necklace, evoking frozen lakes, night skies and florals.
Risoud Eclipse
Black PVD titanium and white gold set with sugarloaf emeralds ringed in diamonds — the forest imagined under the shadow of an eclipse.
Frosted Gold
Three chokers and three cuffs in pink, white or yellow gold, hand-hammered to a diamond-dust shimmer using an ancient Florentine technique.

It carries 44 pear-shaped diamonds in all — 42 at roughly 1.5 carats each, plus a five-carat and a three-carat centerpiece, for about 63 carats of diamonds — while the anodized blue titanium links are "snow-set" with 1,670 blue sapphires that cover them completely. The matching drop earrings add another eight pear-shaped diamonds, about 15 carats more.
| Dream of Joux — Tie Necklace | Detail |
|---|---|
| Metal | Anodized blue titanium & 18k white gold |
| Pear-shaped diamonds | 44 total (42 at ~1.5 ct + a 5 ct & a 3 ct) — ~63 carats |
| Sapphires | 1,670 blue sapphires, snow-set across the links |
| Matching earrings | 8 pear-shaped diamonds, ~15 carats |
| Clasp | Signature octagonal Royal Oak clasp |
The Dream of Joux cuffs are where the color runs wild: a Tree of Life in pink gold with 203 cognac-colored sapphires and more than 590 tsavorite garnets; a Frozen Lake whose diamonds, tsavorites, sapphires and topazes mimic ice; a Blueberries cuff of amethyst and black spinel cabochons; and two one-of-a-kind pieces, the Sunburst (a spessartite-centered sunray) and the Blue Moon (sapphires and two shades of blue topaz). The emeralds in Risoud Eclipse are no less serious — five sugarloaf stones totaling about 16.5 carats on the necklace and three more (about 12 carats) on the cuff. Collectors who love strong color stones will recognize the appeal of both the emerald and sapphire work here.

According to Audemars Piguet's heritage team, the whole collection began almost by accident. When CEO Ilaria Resta first saw prototypes of the tiny Royal Oak Mini in Frosted Gold, she slipped all three gold versions onto one wrist at once — prompting a colleague to say, "You're wearing them like jewellery!" The Meyrin workshops then built three watchless Royal Oak Mini bracelets, and in November 2024 the brand gathered twelve jewelry-loving women in Hong Kong for a three-day co-creation initiative called "Éclat." Royal Oak Joaillerie is what grew out of that experiment.
That Frosted Gold finish itself has pedigree: it was developed with jewelry designer Carolina Bucci in 2016 for the 40th anniversary of the Royal Oak for women, reviving an ancient Florentine technique in which gold is gently hammered with a diamond-tipped tool until it shimmers like fine dust.

Before Paris, Audemars Piguet quietly previewed the pieces to top clients in Bangkok, Zurich and Saint-Tropez. Going forward, the brand lists the collection as available in selected boutiques, naming 20 AP Houses and boutiques worldwide — including New York, Los Angeles and Miami. As for pricing: Audemars Piguet hasn't published any. With a Dream of Joux necklace carrying 63 carats of diamonds and nearly 1,700 sapphires, these are high-jewelry commissions in the truest sense — the kind of pieces where, if you have to ask, the answer is a private appointment.

Explore Watches & JewelryRoyal Oak Joaillerie: Your Questions
What is Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak Joaillerie collection?
It's Audemars Piguet's first-ever dedicated jewelry collection, unveiled in Paris on October 2, 2026. The pieces — necklaces, chokers, cuffs and earrings — are built from the design of the Royal Oak bracelet and contain no watch movements.
How many pieces are in the collection?
The debut consists of 19 creations across three lines: Dream of Joux (the high-jewelry heart), Risoud Eclipse (black titanium with emeralds and diamonds), and a Frosted Gold series of chokers and cuffs in pink, white and yellow gold.
What is the Dream of Joux necklace made of?
The headline tie necklace is anodized blue titanium and 18k white gold, set with 44 pear-shaped diamonds totaling about 63 carats, with the titanium links snow-set in 1,670 blue sapphires. Matching drop earrings add roughly 15 more carats of pear-shaped diamonds.
Why is a watch brand making jewelry without a watch?
The Royal Oak was designed in 1972 by Gérald Genta, who was also a jewelry designer. Its bracelet was always meant to catch light like a gemstone, so removing the dial and presenting the bracelet as jewelry is a natural extension — and a sign of how blurred the line between fine watches and fine jewelry has become.
How much does Royal Oak Joaillerie cost, and where can I see it?
Audemars Piguet has not published prices — these are high-jewelry pieces sold by private appointment. The brand lists the collection in selected boutiques and 20 AP Houses worldwide, including New York, Los Angeles and Miami.
Does Forever Rox carry fine watches and statement jewelry?
Yes. Forever Rox Fine Jewelry in Incline Village serves Lake Tahoe, Reno and Truckee with fine timepieces, statement gemstone jewelry and fully custom designs. Browse our watch collection online or call (775) 831-4544 to book an appointment.
